Lydian vs Ionian — Two Major Modes

The raised ♯4 changes everything

Both are major-sounding modes. Ionian resolves and feels grounded; Lydian raises the 4th by a half step (♯4) which creates a dreamy, floating, unresolved quality. One semitone = a completely different vibe.
